Lauren Haas Jones

About to embark on a family expedition like no other, Lauren will walk from the centre of Australia to the ocean, 1,800kms through the Outback, off the beaten track, with her husband and one year old daughter.  Through this journey she hopes to promote families and children reconnecting to nature, getting active in the outdoors and have fun doing it.

Over the past 15 years, Lauren’s career spans corporate and sustainability strategy and implementation, impact investing, consulting and advocacy. She is a strong advocate of getting outdoors, incorporating nature in our cities and bringing it inside.   She believes that fostering a connection with nature can reduce stress, enhance creativity and clarity of thought, improve our well-being and expedite healing.

In partnership with CRC for Low Carbon Living and KPMG/Banarra, Lauren is developing a Built Environment Impact Framework and guidance Tool, that aims at driving better decision making around investments in sustainable buildings and precincts.  In her previous role as Sustainability Manager for Brookfield Multiplex Australasia, Lauren’s role was to translate the economic, social and environmental value of high performance buildings to boards, executives, clients and peers.

Lauren believes good design is fundamentally linked to improving the health, wellbeing and performance of the people who are engage with it. She is a strong advocate for indoor green space, and has a deep understanding of its role in the health and productivity of people. Lauren, along with her husband and 1 year old daughter
