Monica Richter

Monica Richter heads up WWF’s Low Carbon Futures Program. She is an economist and Social Ecologist with extensive experience in sustainability and business engagement, with an interest in accelerating the uptake of low carbon technologies and the role cities can play. For over 15 years Monica has worked in the not for profit environment sector including at for four years at WWF and 10 years at the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Her skill set includes understanding complex systems, the role renewable energy in transitioning to a low carbon future, eco-friendly transport, urban water systems, and climate change. A true pioneer and an advocate.

Green spaces help filter the air, reduce heat, provide shade, improve our water and provide habitat for wildlife including birds and bats who help pollinate our food. They connect us with nature and inspire us to embrace our responsibility for a better world.
