Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning

m2 To the vision

About this organisation

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) manages Victoria’s water resources in partnership with a network of government agencies and water authorities. We manage groundwater, catchments and waterways, infrastructure, water saving and re-use projects, flood management, governance and water legislation. DELWP works cooperatively with Victoria’s 79 local councils to ensure Victorians enjoy responsive and accountable local government services. Under Victoria's planning system local councils and the Victorian government develop planning schemes to control land use and development, and to ensure the protection and conservation of land. DELWP also manages Victoria’s parks and reserves, state forests, waterways, coasts and marine environments along with our partners Parks Victoria, VicForests, water authorities and committees of management. DELWP manages threatened species conservation and recovery, biodiversity research, invasive species, and climate change adaptation strategies.

Why we support the vision

20V offer a simple yet effective message to get organisations across Australia working to achieve a common target. By starting the conversation on green space we begin to view trees and vegetation as the assets that they are. Better understanding the myriad of benefits associated with green space will help to catalyse us into action.
