Conservation Volunteers Australia

m2 To the vision

About this organisation

Established in 1982, we are both not-for-profit and non-political. CVA produces real and measurable results for our environment whilst building skills, pride and wellbeing in the thousands of volunteers that annually donate their time to practical conservation.

Since 1982 across a myriad of community engagement projects,  CVA has recruited and managed hundreds of thousands of volunteers from all parts of Australian and around the world.  Together they have supported the establishment of  many tens of millions of native trees and shrubs together with a wide variety of other practical conservation based activities.  CVA delivers projects in all parts of our country and each week over 100 projects and volunteer teams are spread across our capital cities, regional centres and more remote locations.

Since our start up in Ballarat , Victoria in 1982 we estimate we have established plantings or removed weeds to allow for natural regrowth to more than 2.1 billion square metres of the Australia environment.  At least 50% or around 1 billion square metres of this would be in our urban centres.
