About the project

Putney Hill is a collection of contemporary houses and apartments nestled beside the expansive Lardelli Park, with a family playground, walking trails and cycle paths.
Putney Hill is a collection of contemporary houses and apartments nestled beside the expansive 2.4 hectare Lardelli Park, with a family playground, walking trails and cycle paths.

The brand new masterplanned residential community is coming to life on the site of the former Royal Rehabilitation Hospital, in Sydney’s Ryde. The community is defined by its mix architect-designed homes and apartments, meticulously defined streetscapes and leafy natural surrounds, and the neighbourhood provides residents with a private sanctuary in the heart of Sydney.

Designed in consultation with award-winning landscape designer Environmental Partnership, Putney Hill will feature multiple flowering parks, rolling green spaces, and exotic gardens via the following unique themed landscapes:
• Palmera Park, a 4,400sqm wildlife-friendly bushland park, featuring gentle lawns and shaded areas adjacent to Palmera Apartments;
• A hill top green will open grassy terraces and relaxing low-key spaces;
• Figtree Park, a lush rainforest-style garden with native exotic flora;
• Extensive rooftop garden oasis atop Jacara Apartments, featuring communal garden beds for vegetable plots, putting green, outdoor barbecue and entertaining facilities, casual seating, formal lounge and reflection area.

Putney Hill’s centerpiece is the 2.4-hectare Lardelli Park, designed to complement the gentle valley in which the neighbourhood is located.

Information about Lardelli Park:

Community benefit:
Lardelli Park not only provides the residents of Putney and Ryde with a new green open space for relaxation and enjoyment, but also performs valuable environmental functions for the community. By acting as a collection point for rainwater from the surrounding areas, the lake plays an important role in storm water management. The lake also assists in improving the water quality flowing to the Parramatta River, and provides a haven for local wildlife including ducks and water birds.

Named after the longest serving Mayor of Ryde – Mr Mick Lardelli – the 2.4ha parkland also provides a picturesque meeting place for friends and families in the community. It is a public asset providing relaxation and enjoyment, and the community and their families benefit from its green open space, and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Design aspects:
Lardelli Park has been designed to complement the gentle valley in which Putney Hill is located. The parklands capture both the morning and evening light, with the afternoon sun setting spectacularly across the lake.

The landscaping is inspired by the simple sophistication of the development’s architecture, and is reflected through generous and inviting design and the use of enduring, quality materials, such as stone and steel, to shape a timeless space.

Areas of grassed open space, shaded canopies of trees, a lake with surrounding boardwalk, and a children’s playground, all interlinked by footpaths and oriented towards the water, ensure that Lardelli Park will appeal to a wide range of age groups.

Integration with residential:
The homes at Putney Hill are perfectly positioned to create views overlooking and between canopies of trees, and down to the lake. Houses and apartments are seamlessly connected to the parklands by a series of footpaths, which provide residents with intuitive routes to the surrounding neighbourhood. The park will form a natural community hub, creating a gathering place where neighbours meet for a chat, while children play together. At other times the park provides a verdant moment on the walk through or past, on the way to work, school, or the Putney Village.
