USE OF SPACE

What is it?

Do people value bush land as much as sports fields? And, if not what can we do about it?

When we look at green space, it's not just the amount of green space, but the way it is designed to encourage community use, and how we can broaden reach and benefit. Unfortunately, sometimes the way that people want to use green space can be at odds with environmental or planning priorities.

This group will look at how we can better design 'nature' for participation, and specifically how good examples of this might provide much needed solutions to better community health and wellbeing, especially among young people.

"If you want nature, wildness and free-range living for kids and adults to exist alongside an increasingly industrialised and technological society then get involved in making that happen."
