What is it?

Often, short-term decision-making considers only immediate profits and does not fully capture the long-term financial benefits of green space.

To overcome this issue, we seek to identify ways, and put forward examples, of how we can better quantify and demonstrate the economic benefits of green space to ensure that benefits are measured adequately and communicated widely.

"Trees are major urban infrastructure assets. While costs, and the damage and nuisance values attributed to trees are widely known, the benefits they provide are often subtle and under-appreciated."
